Literature Clock — a clock told through book quotes

Literature Clock is a free online clock that matches your local time to a passage from a book mentioning that time, updating every minute — in English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, Italian, German, Greek, Simplified Chinese, Russian or Esperanto.

Personalise it with light or dark themes, custom fonts and colours, a distraction-free zen mode, or a screensaver that moves the quote around the screen. Save favourite passages, revisit recent quotes, and share or download them as an image — all stored locally in your browser, with no account needed.

About the project

Created by Carlos Bonadeo, building on the literary clock work of Johannes Enevoldsen and Jaap Meijers. Visit the open-source project to suggest improvements or contribute quotations.
